Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is an application layer protocol used to establish Voice over IP (VoIP) calls. It enables real-time audio and video sessions between two or more endpoints (phones), allowing for seamless call initiation, modification, and termination over an IP network. Whether it’s a one-on-one call or a multi-party conference, SIP ensures smooth and efficient communication.
Enjoy crystal-clear calls, secure connections, and seamless scalability with our Reliable SIP Trunking solution. Stay connected with cost-effective, high-quality voice communication that grows with your business.
SIP trunking enables businesses to run their phone systems over the internet, eliminating the need for physical lines and on-premise infrastructure. It ensures high-quality voice calls while offering a cost-effective, pay-as-you-go pricing model, so you only pay for the minutes you use—maximizing savings and efficiency.
Location is not a restriction. Businesses can keep their current phone number if they relocate their offices.
Provides scalability on demand. You just pay for what you use, and the greatest part is that you can enable additional capacity whenever and wherever it is required.
SIP Trunking is an excellent technique to save money on local, long-distance, and international calls.
SIP trunking depends on internet connectivity, so a slow or unstable network may affect call quality. However, with a strong internet connection, it ensures clear and reliable communication.
SIP trunking combines voice and data into a single network, eliminating the need for separate services and optimizing communication efficiency.
SIP allows for the creation of a uniform virtual presence. It gives people and businesses the ability to select when and how they want to be available.
Handle emergencies effectively – provides for speedy re-routing of calls to a different location.
Innovative Communication, Exceptional Service – Every Step of the Way!
SIP and VoIP both refer to internet telephony and are technically different. They’re often seen as two different options you can choose from. In other words, the primary distinction between VoIP and SIP is their scope. VoIP is a family of technologies, not a single one. SIP falls within the VoIP category.
VoIP is a general phrase that refers to any phone call done over the internet rather than the traditional, physical telephone line. VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol.
SIP is one of these protocols—a specialized protocol that allows VoIP. If VoIP refers to the type of phone call you’re making, SIP is the protocol utilized to make that call.
Want a low-cost approach to allocate and maintain phone numbers for different persons in your company?
Direct Inward Dialing (DID) numbers are your best solution.
In brief, your DID number identifies a certain phone, and your SIP trunk connects that phone to the internet. When someone calls a DID, the SIP trunk connects the call to the internet, and the DID routes the call to the appropriate phone.
Because DID numbers are virtual, they can be issued or reassigned to any phone or device. They’re also adaptable, allowing organizations to create an unlimited number of DID numbers on a single SIP trunk with little constraints.
This is why, almost often, using a single provider for both your DID numbers and SIP trunking connection is simpler and more cost-effective. Otherwise, you may be charged extra for each DID number, which adds up as you purchase more phone lines. DID numbers in conjunction with SIP trunking are a low-cost solution that results in high-quality calls.
SIP Trunks and DIDs work together to create a cost-effective and efficient calling solution

SIP, which stands for Session Initiation Protocol, is simply a method of establishing and terminating connections for data and voice transfers over the internet. The term ‘trunking’ is a bit of a red herring, as a trunk used to refer to a bundle of phone lines shared by users. Modern trunking is a virtual link that uses an internet connection to connect your PBX to the normal phone network (the PSTN).
SIP is generally used to initiate, manage, change, and terminate real-time sessions (connections) involving video, phone, message, and other communications applications and services between two or more endpoints over I.P. (internet protocol) networks.
When you use SIP trunking, phone calls flow over the Internet in the same way that other forms of media do. Calls between employees in your firm are free, just as you do not pay for each individual email you send to a colleague.
It makes no difference if they work in different offices or if one of them works from home. Even long-distance calls are more cheaper because the call only travels a short distance across the PSTN.
It’s simple: any business! If you already have an IP PBX, you will (or should) be aware that SIP Trunks are a critical component. If you’re new to phone systems or upgrading from an analogue PBX, your options are an on-premise (commonly shortened to “on prem” in industry jargon) IP PBX or a fully cloud-hosted PBX system.
SIP configuration is fairly simple. Costs vary depending on where you purchase your SIP trunk. Contact us today and we’ll set everything up for you at a reasonable price.
